The light and the window

The light and the window

Yesterday I sat in a room
with tall windows.

Light was pouring in
through the window.

The whole room was illuminated,
everything,
everyone
was illuminated.

I took a breath
and saw:
all was clear,
all was lit,
all was good,
all was light.

somewhere we read:
God is the light
of the heavens and the earth

Sometimes we see light as what she is:
the light of God,
The God of light.

There is nothing to do,
but to receive the light.

In the light and the window,
I saw:
we
are the window,
and God,
the light.

There is light all around.
There is the light of God,
The God of light.
We are the window.

God pours in
through us.

All we want is this:
to polish the window of our heart
To not get in the way of the light
that is pouring in.
There is light all around.

If our ego, our greed
will not block the light
There is light
all around.

The light of God is pouring in
illuminating all.

All there is
is light.

  1. This is very Ishraqi! And Akbari. And Mawlawi. And, and… And very Qur’anic (Q.24:35) of course. Fits just perfect to the spirit of Ashura. Thank you for pouring light on our hearts, Omid.
